Mackenzie under lap record again.
A busy couple of free practice sessions at the first round of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship ended with more valuable testng done by both riders in preparation for Saturdays qualifying and two races.
Following on from his strong pre-season form, Taylor Mackenzie was consistently under the lap record for the 1.64 mile long Silverstone National circuit, while Michael Rutter completed a 34 lap run on one tyre to evaluate durability, ending the day just 1.06sec behind the fastest time of the day.
Mackenzie (P3 – 55.266sec): “Following on from a strong couple of strong tests here, I was keen to try out a couple more small changes too my bike set up before we get into qualifying and racing. I’m really glad w did, because we found out a couple of useful things for the rest of the weekend. I can’t wait to get go racing now”.
Rutter (P20 – 56.001sec): “I was trying out our new 2018 bike today, which I’m working through to possibly get ready for Taylor. I missed out on the second winter test due to weather, so I was keen to get plenty of laps in today”.
