Victory for Taylor Mackenzie & Bathams Racing

Taylor Mackenzie dominated todays third and final National Superstock 1000 race of the weekend at Brands Hatch to take victory. The race took place in wet conditions that Mackenzie and his Bathams Racing BMW S1000RR took control of from the very start to win by over 6 seconds.

The victory is his first of the season, and comes after a consistent run of podium finishes of four second places and one third place finish have kept him in contention for the title.

Mackenzie (P1 – Championship P2 ): “Obviously it feels fantastic to finally get my first win of the season, and turn the table on Richard Cooper (Buildbase Suzuki). My bike was absolutely perfect today, and really easy to ride. It gave me so much confidence in the tricky conditions, that I really must say a huge thank you to Alec and Graham for all the hard work and hours they’ve put in to building such a great race bike for me. I guess I should probably also thank Michael Rutter too, for being such a cheerful assistant to Alec and Graham ”.

Michael Rutter: “I wasn’t riding this weekend, but I really must say that Taylor has ridden brilliantly all season, and this weekend was no different. Yesterdays races were so close, that Taylor could easily have got three wins this weekend. As it is, we’ll take a pair of thirds, and a win. I’m thrilled for the him and everyone else in the team to get our first win of 2019. The result is as much down to all the support from our fans, sponsors and crew as well as Taylors superb effort this season on the bike.

We had a really good test at Knockhill last week, and obviously it is a track that is special for the Mackenzie family, so we are really looking forward to getting to the next round”
